Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: The immunization record status for one employee was not on file.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the employee's immunization record status is included on file.

Comments

At the inspection dated July 07, 2022 there were 7 children and 2 staff present.The manager was on-site and assisted with the inspection. At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee includes a written response. The contravention noted in this report was reviewed with the facility manager during the inspection.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Continue to document minor incidents using the incident log bound book stored in a designated place, and take note of any illness and unexpected events involving children not requiring medical attention, and that are not reportable incidents as described in Schedule H and staff to initial and date after each documentation.
- Including vaccination status on file
- Continue to clean and sanitize the facility inside and outside including toys and equipment
