Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standard of Practice (DOLSOP). All care categories were assessed for compliance

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation: Licensing observed bottles on cleaner in an unlocked cupboard, accessible by children.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that children do not have access to any items that may be hazardous.

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated February 16, 2024, there were 14 children in care with 2 staff including the Manager.
At the inspection, the above noted contravention was identified.
Please provide Licensing with a written response, by the date noted below, stating how the identified contraventions will be addressed in order to ensure year round compliance.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed. A copy of the report and the corresponding Risk Assessment was emailed to the Manager.
The following items were discussed:
-Children's files.
-Care Plans.
-Enrollment dates.
-Emergency supplies.
Additional Information:
This report was written off site and is unsigned. All items noted in the summary and contravention section were reviewed with the Manager before Licensing's departure. A copy of the report will be emailed to the Manager.
