Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted today to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA). the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR ## RSUN-BB5N2N have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): CCFL reviewed the staff records and found that one staff was missing a resume from their file.
Corrective Action(s): This was corrected during the inspection.
Date to be Corrected: Corrected today.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: CCFL reviewed the children's records and found a new child was missing information related to their immunization status.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that children's records are complete as required.

Comments

Actions to be taken by the licensee: address violations and then email the Licensing Office and state that the violations have been addressed.

CCFL discussed with the licensee the following:
-That staff required Criminal Record Checks that stated the name of the facility on them
-That when hiring staff ensure that they have a Criminal Record Check from the Criminal Record Review Agency in Victoria, not an RCMP Criminal Record Check
