Follow-up inspection conducted for KLAI-CERPNY
Many flies still noted on the wall by the dish washing area. As per Manager, facility has hired an external pest control company, Terminix Canada, who will be coming in on June 13th, 2022 for an inspection. Please send the district inspector the finding of the pest control company for review and plan of actions to be taken to remediate pest issue.
Same sanitary issues still noted as the last routine and follow-up inspection -
Dark, encrusted black buildup below the flat grill
Heavy carbon and grease buildup noted on the vent hood
Encrusted grease buildup and debris noted on the floor below the deep fryer
Flies excrement still noted on the wall by the electrical panel
Manager was able to provide video evidence that cleaning and sanitation was completed on June 1, 2022. However, due to volume of business and kitchen size, buildup had occurred during that time. As per Manager, cleaning is conducted weekly.
This video evidence indicates that the cleaning frequency currently in place does not meet this location's business need. Please update the sanitation plan and send to the district inspector for review to reflect an increase frequency of cleaning of the facility. If cleaning cannot be achieved by staff, operator may consider hiring an external cleaning company. As per the BC Food Premises Regulation, it is the operator's responsibility to maintain the premises in a sanitary condition at all time. This is especially important as excessive grease and carbon buildup may lead to potential fire hazard, food contamination and will act as a food source for pest (especially for this situation where flies are an issue in this facility).
