Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection, there was 1 blind cord dropped down, a power bar and one electrical outlet within children's reach

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated May 30, 2019 there were 4 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified . Licensee will provide a written response to licensing as to corrective actions taken.Licensing will review the response As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Active Supervision, Planning for heat-Getting ready for Summer
· Lead in the Water
Licensing had discussions around exemptions, screen time, pool safety and gate locks
