304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: -2 cockroaches (1 adult, 1 nymph) noted in adhesive traps in front cafe area; one underneath prep table adjacent to line cooler and one underneath counter where espresso/machine is located.
Corrective Action(s): -Increase sanitation level (as per code 306), maintain contract with Pest Control Company and follow recommendations of Technician, continue to monitor for any further activity. Increase frequency of service if increased activity noted.

Note: Current Pest Control contract is monthly. Reports provided for Jan - April. More recent reports could not be located at the time of the inspection. Ensure reports are retained on-site and are available for viewing at follow-up inspection.

Observation: -Food debris and miscellaneous items (dishes, packaging) noted underneath equipment and prep tables.
Corrective Action(s): -Thoroughly clean entire floor area to remove all debris paying particular attention to hard to reach areas. Ensure floor is maintained in a sanitary condition. [Correction date: 16-Jul-2018]

Observation: Lid/cover to ice machine is being held together by duct tape. Duct tape is not a suitable material for food equipment.
Corrective Action(s): Repair or replace lid/cover and ensure surface is food grade and washable. [Correction date: 16-Jul-2018]

-Handwashing sink in food preparation/service area and public washroom supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel
-Coolers were at acceptable temperatures:
-Display cooler was at 4C
-Line cooler was at 3C
-Sliding door cooler 3C
-Undercounter cooler 4C
-Thermometers present for monitoring cooler temperatures
-Hot holding of soup was 66C
-Dipper well in use for spoons at barista counter
-Quats sanitizer (200ppm) present and in use with wiping cloths
-Staff on duty has completed Foodsafe level 1 (including refresher course) and level 2.
-High temperature dishwasher functioning and met sanitizing temperature. Final rinse was 76C at dish surface measured with min/max thermometer.
