Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No sanitizer available on-site to sanitize high touch points and the bulk foods area.
Corrective Action(s): Have sanitizer prepared and available for use to properly sanitize high contact surfaces and the bulk foods area. Bulk foods area must be sanitized on a regular schedule. Bleach at 100ppm was prepared at the time of inspection.

Observation: 1) Severely dented canned food items were found in the aisles.
2) Bulk foods (walnuts and gur) did not have a protective cover.
3) Foods were stored on the floor under the produce tables.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Ensure staff routinely check the canned food items and removed products which are dented. Dented food items removed for the aisles at the time of inspection.
2) Ensure all foods are covered and protected from potential contamination.
3) Ensure all foods are stored off the ground and protected from potential contamination.

Observation: Handwash station faucet is leaking water.
Corrective Action(s): Service faucet and ensure it is in good working order.

Comments

-Walk-in cooler was at 4C.
-Produce line cooler was at 4C.
-Wall freezer was at -16C.
-Chest freezers were less than -18C.
-Cleaning and sanitizing carried out in 2-compartment sink. Bleach and sink plugs available.
-Handwash station accessible and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels.
-General sanitation good at the time of inspection.
-No signs of pests noted at the time of inspection. Pest issues have improved significantly.
-Please contact the inspector if you have any questions or concerns.
-Signature not required due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Facility is offering bulk foods. The following is required:
-Provide alcohol based hand sanitizer or handwash facilities within easy reach of the bulk foods (facility has hand sanitizer at both ends of the bulk foods section).
-Post signage reminding customers to wash or sanitize hands prior to using bulk food area AND post signs to remind customers to physically distance (2m).

Facility needs to complete and post a workplace COVID-19 safety plan. Plan must be made accessible to staff, people who come on-site for work, and customers upon request. For information on how to develop the workplace COVID-19 safety plan, refer to WorkSafeBC website.
