Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and observed that record of immunization status was missing for one staff.
This is a repeat contravention as a this coded item was identified on the last routine inspection report.
Corrective Action(s): Please obtain, from each staff prior to hiring, a record demonstrating that they comply with the Province's immunization and T.B control programs.

Comments

At this inspection, the above noted contravention. Licensing provided a date for addressing the contravention and is requesting a written response by May 27th advising on compliance.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The following was discussed:

· COVID-19 prevention strategies
· Different ways to maintain a record of when programs combine

The information contained in the report was discussed with the manager and the report and risk assessment were written off-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
