Introduction

An unannounced inspection was attempted on January 24, 2018 however staff did not hear the writer knocking on the rear door. The Licensee and the writer arranged for today's inspection and to utilize the front door of the facility.

This routine inspection is to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulation and the applicable Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. Evidence for this report was based on the writer' s observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:
Licensing
Physical Facility
Staffing
Policies and Procedures
Care and Supervision
Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
Medication
Nutrition and Food Services
Program
Records and Reporting.

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The risk assessment includes any violations identified during the routine inspection, and a 3 year 'historical' review of the facility's compliance and operation.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

This facility was licensed in September 2017 and this is the facility's first routine inspection. The Licensee was found in complete compliance with the legislative requirements; no violations were identified. The writer would like to acknowledge the hard work of the Licensee in achieving this status.

The following on-line courses may be located on the Fraser Health's website (www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare) and are available to the public at no cost; additionally these courses may be used towards renewing an individual's early childhood educator's certificate for one hour per course and are also applicable for parents.
