Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
Sanitizer spray bottle for packaging area contained a bleach solution that was too strong. Test strip "bleached out" indicating chlorine concentration > 200ppm.
Corrective action: ensure bleach solution is 100-200ppm. Using a solution above recommended levels may contaminate food.

- Discussed adding 1/2 cap of bleach to 1 full spray bottle of water. Test strips provided to operator.

- Walk in cooler: 2 deg.C
- Yogurts and cheese cooler: 2 deg.C
- Deli display cooler: 4 deg.C
- Meat freezer: -19 deg.C
- Frozen meals freezer: -18 deg.C
- Ice cream freezer: -22 deg.C
- Dry storage appeared well organized. All foods stored at least 15cm off floor.
- Re-packaged foods were clearly labelled.
- Meat slicer maintained in sanitary condition.
- All food products for sale appeared to be in good condition and well organized.
- No signs of pests at time of inspection.
- Handsink supplied with hot and cold water, liquid soap and paper towels.
- Note: sweets display cooler not plugged in, only used for items display and storing sweets that do not require refrigeration.

* Reminded that vinegar is not an appropriate sanitizer. Bleach is available on site to make sanitizing solution.


COVID-19 Control Measures
- Recommended to use bleach solution for high touch surfaces disinfection.
- 1000ppm solution required for high level disinfection.
--> 20mL bleach + 1L water.
- Staff wear masks
- Plexiglass installed by cashier, floor markings noted.
