PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed a large light table was placed on a wobbly table. This could present a potential falling hazard. Please complete this by May 7, 2019.
In addition a rusty gate was also noted in the outdoor play area. This coud present a potential health hazard. Licensing and the Director discussed providing active supervision of the children playing in the area of the gate until the gate is fixed.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a safe environment is provided at all times.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: Licensing observed one light fixture was missing a cover and two light bulbs were exposed.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the fixtures are in good repair when the children are present.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation: The temperature in the washroom was measured at 51.7 degrees Celcius. This is a repeat contravention from the routine inspection # CLAN-B95QBA. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the temperature of the water is heated to no more than 49 Degrees Celcius to comply with the legislation.

STAFFING: 12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry,
Observation: Four staff records were reviewed. Three staff records were missing verification of their ECE and ECEA certificates. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure staff records are verified through the ECE registry.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: During the inspection the attendance was observed. At 10:15 am only 5 children were signed in on the attendance although 7 children were present. Attendance records were reviewed for the months of April and May 2019. This was the only day a record of attendance was not completed. This is a repeat contravention from the routine inspection # CLAN-B95QBA. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure attendance records are complete.
