Introduction

The purpose of today's visit was to conduct a routine inspection to Facility Inspection Report 3 KSEY-AVTQEV

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #KSEY-AVTQEV have been corrected except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13060 - CCLR s.56(1)(d) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.
Observation: During inspection Manager stated that they have not written the required "Active Play" and "Screen Use" policies.

Licensing had sent numerous emails to the Licensee in 2017 regarding this requirement (DoLSOP "Active Play")which became effective Sept. 2017.

During routine inspection KSEY-AVTQEV (Feb. 9/18) Licensing left resources regarding these required policies.
Corrective Action(s): Write "Active Play" and "Screen Use" policies, share with staff and parents. Please submit a copy of these policies to Licensing for review.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: During inspection Licensing reviewed the sign in/ out sheets for the month of June and noted numerous occasions where the time of departure was not recorded.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure time of arrival and departure is recorded throughout the day as this information is used by emergency personnel at times of an emergency.

Comments

During inspection Licensing noted that the tripping hazard has been corrected on the deck and the hot water temperature did not exceed 49C.

During inspection children were engaged in free play in the outside area.
