Introduction

A scheduled inspection was conducted as a follow up to routine inspection # LVIA-BPCVEA on September 9, 2020 to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas not reviewed at the last routine inspection, were inspected for compliance. A Covid-19 Risk screening assessment was completed with the facility prior to this inspection.

Observed Violations

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]. Observation: Upon review of the facility records, the fire drill had not been recorded in February, March, April, May, June, July and August. Corrective Action(s): Please ensure facility records are kept current. Date to be Corrected: September 30, 2020

Comments

At the inspection dated September 9, 2020 there were 7 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection 1 contravention was identified.Licensee will provide Licensing with a written response. Licensing will review the response. As part of this Inspection a Covid-19 Infection Control Assessment was completed and a copy was provided. The following discussions were had with the Licensee: · Fire Drill Records & Criminal Record Checks · Covid-19 prevention Strategies · Physical Facility & Social Distancing · Health & Hygiene The following resources were provided: · Resource package for Childcare Facilities containing info on: Covid-19; Healthy Diapering; Germ Fighting; How to cough; How to Sneeze The information contained in the report was discussed with the Licensee and Licensing stated that the report will be emailed to the facility.
