Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: During the inspection of the outdoor are it was noted that the stairs leading to the second floor had an open gate allowing access to a hot tub filled with water. The hot tub was covered, however the hot tub presents a hazard to young children. This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 01, 2021 there were 6 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· Daily outdoor activities
· Digital pictures of children
· Daily health check in
