Introduction

An unscheduled Routine Inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation: 12 children's records were reviewed. 2 children who require a care plan did not have one documented at the time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure to develop a care plan for children show the courses of action recommended by the health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
The COVID-19 Pre-screening was conducted at the door.
During today’s inspection, there were 14 children, facility manager,1 staff and 1 support staff.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contraventions.
The following was discussed:
Systems in place to regularly review the emergency evacuation kits
Use of daily log book to document non-reportable items pertaining to the children in care.
Sanitization and cleaning measures discussed. Removal of some toys and storage of items could support reducing the amount of cleaning required
One fire extinguisher label had been stamped with out date. Licensee will connect with the company and inquire about this. Other extinguishers had recently been inspected and were accessible in the event of emergency.
