Observation: Rat droppings observed on floors of the following areas:
- dishwashing/storage area in processing room
- soda fountain system in the back storage room
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to monitor for droppings EVERY MORNING and remove them immediately when observed. Sanitize all affected areas. Have the facility inspected for any potential entries and block/seal any cracks/holes when observed. A copy of pest control report to be provided to the health inspector.

305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation: 1) Slushie/soda spills observed on floor underneath self service soda station.
2) Back storage area requires more better cleaning to avoid allowing harbourage.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have floors of both retail area and processing room cleaned on a DAILY basis. Leaving food debris on floor will only attract more pest into the facility.

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Floors of the following areas require more frequent cleaning.
- underneath self-service soda station
- behind stand-up freezer/open display cooler
- processing room, especially by the dishwashing sink/storage unit
- back storage room underneath soda fountain system
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have all above areas cleaned as agreed at this time. Ensure to have all floors cleaned at least once every day.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted:

- Handwashing stations adequately supplied with liquid soap, paper towels and hot/cold running water.
- Coolers operating at 4'C; Freezers operating at -18'C.
- Hot-holding units operating at 60'C.
- Thermometers available for temperature monitoring.
- 200ppm Quats available in labelled spray bottle and at automated dispenser.
- Dishwashing sink properly equipped.

General sanitation level requires improvement. Refer to above.

Processing room was being cleaned by staff at the time of the visit. Storage unit was emptied and pulled out. OK.
