Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. Observation: Fire Extinguisher has not been serviced annually Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the system is in place to have the Fire Extinguisher serviced annually. Date to be Corrected: October 27, 2022 RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility. Observation: Children's records did not include the date of enrollment. Corrective Action(s): Please ensure to keep for each child a record showing the date of enrolment in the community care facility Date to be Corrected: October 27, 2022

Comments

Summary of Inspection: At the inspection dated October 13, 2022, seven children attended the preschool. No preschool children were present as the preschool had finished and the Licensing met with the manager. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contraventions. The following was discussed or education provided: Emergency supplies kit to include the Emergency permission cards with children's photos.
