Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14010 - CCLR s.34(1) - A licensee must ensure that children are adequately supervised by qualified employees in sufficient numbers to meet the needs of each child.
Observation: Licensing observed 2 preschool aged children playing in the front play room with the door closed limiting visual and auditory supervision. Licensee confirmed this happens often and he has tried to keep the door open however it doesn't work.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children are supervised at all times while in care.

At the inspection on May 19th, 2023 there were 4 children and 1 staff present.
At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified.
