Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
The following areas were reviewed:

· Care & Supervision
· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services
· Program
· Records and Reporting
As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Licensing provided and reviewed the 5210 package
Changes of the CCLR discussed.
Based on the review of the records, all areas appear to be in compliance.
There are equipment and materials available for the children that are age appropriate and during the inspection, Licensing observed the children engaged with them.
Previous violations from the last routine have been addressed, the documentation of minor log book and the fire extinguisher is up to date.
The daycare children do not use the trampoline, it is for the Licensee's family.
Licensing observed children being provided positive support and and comfort when having challenging moments.
During the inspection, the temporary placement application that was received via fax was received, Licensee was informed that the application is approved, effective November 2, 2016, the approval letter to be forwarded.
