Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #DCHG-AZ3RS9 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation: During inspection Licensing reviewed children's records and noted that the start date was not recorded on the documents.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure start dates are recorded on all children's records of children attending the facility.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated Apr. 30, 2019 there were 7 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified.
Licensee to submit written documentation to Licensing by May 13, 2019 listing a date that start dates were recorded on children's files.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

During inspection Licensing observed children engaged in a circle time, creating art with paint and engaged in free play in the outside area.

During inspection Licensing observed staff interacting with children while they were engaged in activities and give warnings before times of transition
