STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and observed that although one staff had a valid criminal record check clearance letter (CRC), it was not referenced to the licensee. Licensing discussed the sharing process.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure CRC's are properly shared with the licensee.

Observation: Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and observed that records of certificate verification were missing from 2 files.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure certificates are verified by using the system established and maintained by the ECE registry.

Observation: The manager advised that the emergency evacuation plan was practiced in 2020 but it was not recorded.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure records for yearly emergency evacuation drills.
