Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the routine inspection 7 children's files were reviewed. One child's file was missing an enrollment date.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children's files are complete.

Comments

At the inspection dated April 28, 2023 there were 6 children, 2 staff and the manager present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· Temporary Placements
· Active Supervision
· Lead in the Water
· A conversation was had regarding checking reference after they have been called
· A conversation was had regarding the labeling of the bleach bottle and changing it daily
· A conversation was had regarding the maintenance of the paint on the facilities walls

Valid CRC, confirmed expiry date with licensee.
