STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: The manager confirmed that they have renewed a staff's CRC on Nov 22, 2016 and is waiting for the result. The manager stated that this staff have been working at the facility since the CRC was expired and no concern has been reported. The manager agreed that this staff will not be left alone with children and will be monitored pending the outcome of the CRC.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all staff have their valid CRC prior to hiring. Please notify licensing once her CRC has arrived.
