Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspection for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed the following;
- Plastic bins place ontop of various large shelves. This is a falling hazard. The director was in progress addressing this contravention while licensing was writing report.
- Toilet training seats on the ground next to the toilet. Licensing provided suggestions on an alternate storing options.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Comments

At today’s inspection there were 2 children, 1 staff and the director present.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to licensing by Feb 6/23 stating how you have addressed the above noted contraventions. Licensing will review the response. As part of this routine inspection a facility risk assessment tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The contents of the inspection report were reviewed with the director and written on-site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager and a paper copy mailed to the facility.

- Maintenance of walls
- Process for amending licences
