Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Meat slicer and metal spider strainer observed to have some food debris remaining after being cleaned and sanitized. Ice machine interior observed to have some buildup of mildew.
Corrective action:
1. Clean and sanitize the meat slicer and spider strainer (corrected during inspection).
Corrected during insp.
2. Empty the ice machine of ice and clean then sanitize the interior as per sanitation plan (to be corrected by July 12, 2023).

Follow up to routine health inspection on July 10, 2023.
- Ice machine interior in sanitary condition. Scoop stored safely in designated scoop holder.
- Equipment and utensils stored in sanitary condition with the following exception: Deli slicer was observed to have a small amount of dried on debris (not on a direct food contact surface). Kitchen manager reviewed procedures with staff on site during inspection, including procedures for cleaning and sanitizing hard-to-reach areas.
- Food items observed to be covered (dry storage, walk-in cooler).
- Liquid soap and paper towels in place for hand sinks at time of inspection.
Kitchen manager to provide an update once the remaining outstanding violations have been corrected. Refer to routine health inspection report dated July 10, 2023 for details.
