Services provided: nails (manicure, pedicure, footbath - no artificial nails); esthetics (facials, eyelash/brow tinting, pimple extraction - no microneedling); waxing; non-registered massage.
Layout of home-based PSE meets health requirements based on services provided.
Hand washing - hot/cold water, liquid soap, single use towels are provided.
Nail services:
- Pedicure blades are single use. Sharps container needed for disposal. - See above.
- High level disinfectant (CS20) is available for disinfecting semi-critical items such as cuticle nippers, cuticle pushers, nail clippers, etc. Follow directions on label (no dilution/do not add water), soak for 20 minutes, rinse if needed, store in a clean covered container. If 14 day re-use, then keep track of dates. Note that a Health Canada DIN # should be on the label. Use as per directions for safe and proper use of all chemicals.
- Wooden foot files are no longer accepted as wood can absorb water and cannot be cleaned. Use only implements that can be washed, rinsed, and disinfected. Foot files/rasps are now made of stainless steel or plastic which can be cleaned.
- Stainless steel foot bath is cleaned with a disinfectant cleaner. Disposable liners are not used. - See above. Intermediate disinfectant required for foot bath.
- Absorbent items are discarded after use (absorbent files, tissue used between toes). See above regarding re-use of buffers.
- Metal drill bits are not used. Sanding bands are used and are single use.
- Nail services checklist provided and reviewed.
Esthetics:
- Lancets (needles) currently not used but if using for pimple extraction (operator advises they are sometimes used), use sterile single use lancets and dispose into sharps container.

- High level disinfectant available.
