HAZARD RATING FOR YOUR FACILITY: Low (≤15) Total Score = 8
Critical Hazards: Total Number: 1
303 - Equipment/facilities/hot & cold water for sanitary maintenance not adequate [s. 17(3); s. 4(1)(f)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1) Greater than 200 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available inside the bucket.
2) Chlorine sanitizer had liquid soap mixed according to the Operator and bubbles were present at the top.
Corrective Action(s): Operator setup 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer without soap in the container and placed a clean wiping cloth into it. It was discussed that soap can interfere with the effectiveness of the chlorine sanitizer and should not be mixed into the chlorine sanitizer solution that is used to sanitize prep. surfaces. Soapy water should be setup separately to clean preparation surfaces before they are sanitized with separate surface sanitizer solution.
