Comments

- Premises is a food store that sells prepackaged foods as well as drip coffee, slushies and soft ice cream.
- All coolers 4C or less; Freezers - 12C to -24C .
- General sanitation satisfactory. No obvious signs of pests noted at time of inspection.
- Hand wash station in the washroom had soap, paper towel, hot and cold running water.
- Bleach available on site.
- Inquired about two compartment sink on site - operator said it is used to discard mop water.
- Discussed operations for cleaning/sanitizing the coffee/slushy/soft icecream equipment with operator. He said he only does slushies/icecream two months out of the year and that the slushy/icecream company take the equipment away bi-weekly to clean/sanitize. Please provide contact information for this company. Coffee equipment also requires 4 step manual ware washing procedures as well.
- Inquired about hot water, soap and paper towel for the sink beside coffee/slushy/soft icecream station - operator said that the sink has never had hot water and he does not like to keep soap and paper towel there as customers misuse/take them.
- Discussed where the coffee/slushy/ice cream mixtures are prepared for the customers - area of display was indicated. A fully equipped hand wash station is required in all food preparation areas.
- Operator has noted that he has been providing coffee/slushy/soft icecream for several years and has never had to have a two compartment ware washing sink and hand sink in the preparation areas. File review for approved floor plans will be conducted.
