Comments

At the inspection dated December 6, 2019 there were 9 children and 2 adults present.

Licensing was able to observe the Preschool Program and reviewed the School Age documentation.
As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.
The following discussions were provided:
- The preschool program has an attendance record that indicates the timing of the program. A discussion was had with the manager about ensuring when children arrive late or leave early in the preschool program that is reflected on the attendance record.
- Licensing noted the hot water in the the children's bathroom was too cold. It is good practice for children to wash their hands with soap and water however, to minimize the spread of communicable diseases it is best to use warm water and soap.
- There has been a new wooden playground structure installed by the elementary school. Licensing was able to conduct a walk through of the playground. A discussion was had with the manager regarding supervision when the children are playing on that playground. This playground is not suitable for the preschool program and is to be used only by the School Age program.
The following resources were provided and reviewed:
- Incident Reporting in Child Care Facilities- April 2019
- Child Safety Alert
