At the inspection dated Nov. 16, 2022 there were 17 children, 3 staff, 1 practicum student and 1 volunteer present. The manager also arrived on-site and assisted with the inspection. At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee includes a written response. The contravention noted in this report was reviewed with the manager during the inspection.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The following education/recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Continue to document minor incidents using the incident log bound book, and take note of any illness and unexpected events involving children not requiring medical attention, and that are not reportable incidents as described in Schedule H and staff to initial and write the date after each documentation
- Continue to clean and sanitize the facility including toys and equipment
- Continue hand hygiene procedures
- Check the expiry date of items in the emergency supplies kit
- Filing system and documentation procedures for staff, practicum students, volunteers and children
- Continue active supervision of children
