STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: Upon inspection of two staff files, licensing observed that one staff had a criminal record that was not addressed to Licensee and another staff had a criminal record from the RCMP. Manager indicated that both criminal record checks have been applied for.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure prior to employing a person that manager has obtained a criminal record check.

STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: Upon inspection, licensing observed that 4 employee files did not have an immunization status.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure prior to employing a person that manager has obtained evidence of the persons complied immunization status.

CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14030 - CCLR s.34(2)(b) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: Upon inspection, there was 1 qualified ITE and 2 RA present. The Licensee replaced an ECE with an RA.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure staffing meet the requirements permitted in schedule E of Child Care Licensing Regulations.
