Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspection for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Upon discussion with the licensee, it was mentioned that emergency drills are conducted but have not practiced bringing emergency supplies to their secondary location.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure emergency drills are practiced in their entirely

HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation: Licensing observed children not washing their hands after toileting
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children practice the rules of health and hygiene
Date to be Corrected: Immediately


Comments

At today’s inspection there were 3 children and the licensee present.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer as indicated above. The Licensing Officer will review the response.
As part of this routine inspection, a facility risk assessment tool is completed. The risk assessment includes any non-compliance identified during the routine inspection, a 3 year ‘historical’ review of the facility’s compliance and operation. This is used to determine inspection frequency.
The contents of the inspection report were reviewed with the licensee prior to the inspection report being written off-site. A copy of the report will be hand delivered to the facility, reviewed with the licensee and copies of emergency consent cards will be provided on November 9, 2022.

- Updated images of children's photo on file documentation
- Updating children's emergency contact information
- In-take process for potential new families
