Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). Some areas could not be inspected due to health and safety measures during COVID-19.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
At this inspection dated June-19-20, there were 20 children present with 4 staff members.
The Manager, the Licensee and another stake holder was present at the Routine Inspection.
A COVID-19 Risk Screening was conducted prior to inspection.
At this inspection, no contraventions were identified.
No further action is required by Licensing or by the Licensee.
As part of this Routine Inspection, a facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.
A copy of the report and corresponding risk assessment was emailed to the manager as this report was written off site to encourage health and safety during COVID-19.

The following items were discussed:
- Facility systems to establish proper record keeping.
-Reportable Incident requirements and protocol.
-Care plans for children in care.
-Health/Hygiene practices during COVID-19.
-Safety plan for children and staff during COVID-19.

The following resources were provided:
- Reportable Incident Bulletin
-Director of Licensing Standards of Practice Active Play and Safe Play Space.
-Reportable Incident Forms.
-Work Safe BC - Child care and day camps: Protocol for returning to operation.
-Resource Package for Childcare Facilities: COVID-19 Prevention.
