Introduction

Community Care Facilities Licensing (CCFL) inspected all care categories during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/:
• the Community Care & Assisted Living Act
• the Child Care Licensing Regulation
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practices

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-CGSQZE have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The manager's certificate was not posted.

STAFFING: 12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): CCFL reviewed all employees' files: An employee's recent certificate renewal had not been verified.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: CCFL reviewed 10 children's files: 1 child lacked their Dr or walk-in clinic contact information.
Corrective Action(s): All requirements of s.57(2) must be obtained by children's 1st day of care.
