Introduction

All care categories were inspected during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/:
• the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA)
• the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR)
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practices (DLSP)

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-CBF26Q have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: An employee's CRC was applied for by another organization.
Corrective Action(s): Employees can share their BC Ministry of Justice's Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) CRC results w/ other organizations enrolled or registered w/ the CRRP: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/crime-prevention/criminal-record-check/sharing-results
In the meantime, this employee cannot work alone w/ children or assist w/ toileting/diapering.

1 violations was observed, in which corrective action includes obtaining employee documentation.

The inspection was reviewed w/ an employee; however, CCFL completed this report & the risk assessment offsite & emailed both to the licensee & the manager.
