Observation: 1) Some of the bulk food bins were missing scoop holding.
2) 7 containers of baby food were past the expiry date. Older stock was placed behind newer stock.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Ensure scoops are stored in a sanitary manner to prevent handles from contaminating the foods.
2) Ensure baby foods are rotated properly and removed the shelving area before they expire. Also ensure staff practice the first-in, first out-principle

Comments

-Dairy cooler was at 4C.
-Walk-in freezer was at -18C.
-Display coolers were at or below 4C.
-Cut melons were stored at 4C in the cooler.
-Chest and bank freezer ranged at -13C to -18C
-Vegetable prep area handwash station accessible and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels.
-Quats sanitizing dispenser was at 200ppm.
-Quats sanitizing solution was at 200ppm.
-Random selection of canned food items were within their best before date. A couple of items were dented and were removed from the shelving area.
-Random selection of nutritional supplements were within their expiry dates.
-Facility is serviced by a professional pest control operator. Rodent droppings were observed along the walls. Ensure all affected areas are disinfected with a sanitizer and monitor for future activity.
*Canned/Bottled items imported from India (PIP) labelled Keep Refrigerated. Store Manager has contacted head office to determine if items need to be refrigerated or only refrigerated after opening.
