Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Prep cooler inserts were placed on top of other inserts and were above 4C.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure inserts are stored properly in the cooler. Foods above the fill line may not be maintained at/or below 4C, which may result in the growth of pathogens and/or the formation of toxins. Inserts were moved to the bottom of the prep cooler at the time of inspection.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Cell phone was placed on the prep table area.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure phones and other staff belongings are stored in designated areas to prevent potential cross contamination.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Staff member was observed washing dishware with gloves and proceeded to food handling without changing gloves.
Corrective Action(s): Staff who wear gloves must change gloves when switching between activities and when gloves become potentially contamination. Review hand hygiene and glove use procedures with all staff.

Observation: 1) Ice machine was found to bacterial growth on the plastic cover.
2) 3-door under counter cooler was found to have mould on the door seals.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Ensure ice machine is cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis to prevent potential contamination of ice.
2) Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.

Corrective Action(s): Ensure all spray bottles are properly labelled to identify the contents to prevent accidental mixing and/or misuse. Ensure bottles are checked and relabelled as needed.

Comments

-Inspection conducted with student Environmental Health Officer.
-Both kitchen prep coolers were at 4C (top and bottom).
-Kitchen under counter cooler was at 4C.
-Service area prep cooler was at 4C.
-Service area upright cooler was at 4C.
-Kitchen upright freezer was at -18C.
-Customer area freezer was at -18C.
-Hot holding was greater than 60C.
-Pork fried to greater than 74C.
-High temperature dishwasher had a final rinse temperature of 81C on the dish surface on consecutive cycles (minimum of 71C required for proper sanitizing).
-Bleach sanitizer spray bottles were at 200ppm to 400ppm.
-Handwash stations accessible and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels.
-Kimbap rice machine is sanitized every 2 hours. Equipment is disassembled and sanitized in the dishwasher.
-Ice scoops changed every 30 minutes.
-General food storage practices good at the time of inspection.
-Facility serviced by a professional pest control operator.
-No signs of pests noted at the time of inspection (tin cats).
-Washroom clean and sanitary. Handwash station supplied with liquid hand soap and single use paper towels.
-FOODSAFE Level 1 valid until September 30, 2027.
