Introduction

A routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulationand the applicable Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. In response to the current COVID 19 pandemic this inspection focused on the physical facility, equipment and furnishings, hygiene and communicable disease control.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated, June 17, 2020 there were 9 staff and 21 children present. There were no contraventions identified during this inspection. A discussion occurred regarding the free standing mini fridges and low shelving units in the various programs. White there are no contraventions associated with these items there is the potential for children to use these items to assist them to stand and the items tipping over. Licensing said it was important for staff to be aware of this issue and to ensure active supervision is occurring at all times.

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

Licensing reviewed with the Manager their cleaning and sanitizing procedures and the implementation of the facility's sick policy for both staff and children. The Licensee has completed and posted their WorkSafe BC safety plan.

This inspection report was reviewed with the Manager during the inspection. This report and the Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed off site (time spent .25 hrs.) and a copy of these documents were sent to the Manager.
