Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
The following areas were reviewed:
· Licensing
· Physical Facility
· Staffing
· Polices & Procedures
· Care & Supervision
· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services
· Program
· Records and Reporting
As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Licensing conducted inspection of the whole facility to ensure compliance of capacity and must met, no concerns.
Licensee has an Active Play, discussed Screen Use, meet the requirement, Policy to also be developed.
Licensing also discussed Emergency Drill be practiced with the children.
Licensee will send a copy of the information on the fire extinguisher that states in 6 years to either be replaced or serviced, information implies that yearly requirement is not needed, Licensing will forward this information.
The facility continues to provide monthly theme activities, today children were celebrating St. Patrick's day.
As part of the routine inspection, the following discussed:

Active supervision,
Flushing lead out of drinking water
Updated Reportable Incident Reporting.
