Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection was conducted to ensure compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSOP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection. Contraventions

Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #LPEN-ASW28Z have been corrected except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed the sink used by the children in the infant toddler washroom had a temperature of 57.7 degrees Celsius. The Manager turned the hot water off at the sink used by the children. Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49 degrees Celsius Date to be Corrected:

Comments

The Manager discussed with the Licensing Officer about the plan for a new fence. The Manager stated that until the fence is replaced Staff will place themselves in front of the fence to be able to supervise the children effectively. The Manager has obtained quotes to repair the fence and plans to have it replaced by February 2018 depending on the weather. The Manager will submit a written response to Licensing when the new fence is installed.
