Policies and Procedures:
- Fire drills for January and February 2019 seen by the writer.
Medications:
- Overall PRN medication charting with the effects/results appear to be noted except for one. Specifics provided during the inspection and the Manager will follow-up on this. Given overall the PRN charting is noted with effects/results this was not made a contravention.
Physical Plant:
- Front living area floor vent has been repaired as it was cracked previously.
- Fire extinguisher by the tub room is now noted with a up to date service tag.
- Concrete pathway that is uneven discussed with the Manager. Red cones have been placed around the area that is uneven until such time this is addressed. The Manager stated this uneven area is near the adjacent home (licenced home at 13333-20th Avenue, Surrey) that is nearby and the Manager will follow-up with that home's Manager. Until such time this is fully addressed, if issues arise, please ensure appropriate health and safety measures are implemented to ensure the health and safety of all persons in care.
- Hot water temperature randomly checked at the sink in the shower room. The temperature was noted to be at 49.8 degrees Celsius. The Manager showed the writer an e-mail dated March 13, 2019 sent to BC Housing around this issue and during the inspection the Manager called BC Housing and BC Housing will be installing a device to maintain the hot water temperature at 49 degrees Celsius during the week of March 18, 2019. Please let the writer know when this is completed.
