Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.

The routine inspection was conducted and the report was written on August 9, 2018. However, due to technical difficulties the inspection date is incorrect. The accurate date will be changed in our system in due time.

The following areas were reviewed:

· Licensing
· Physical Facility
· Staffing
· Policies and Procedures
· Care and Supervision
· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Program
· Records and Reporting

As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #EGAU-AR8MHV have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

The following was discussed:

· Active supervision practices during indoor and outdoor play;
· Procedures when picking up children from school;
· Reportable incident process.

At the time of the inspection food was being steamed in the pot over the stove top. The licensee advised that they remain in the kitchen when the stove top is turned on.

Licensing conducted a visual inspection of the entire house.

Licensing would like to thank the licensee for their time and assistance.
