Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At today’s inspection there were 63 children and 21 staff present. Licensing conducted a walk through of the entire facility.

At this inspection no contraventions were identified.
As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool used to determine inspection frequency is completed and a copy was provided to the facility along with this report.
The contents of the inspection report were reviewed with the licensee contact and facility manager on-site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager on February 8, 2024.
The Licensing Officer met with the licensee contact and manager and discussed the following:
Record verification and documentation of staff reference checks
Obtain shared Criminal Record Check for staff who have CRC processed by another CEFA franchisee location.
A system in place for each classroom to identify any items that require repair or replacement to facility equipment and furnishings
Posting of manager's name where the facility licence is posted.
Copy of daily attendance as part of emergency plan. Maintain a record of up to date attendance at all times when wifi or on-line system may not be available.
Review of staff files
Update to facility licensee contact
Reportable Incident Reporting – Duty Line 604-587-3936, and on-line reporting system
Documentation in log books to provide complete information. (who, what, when, where and any follow up by staff)
Update size of photos used for emergency info
