An unscheduled follow up inspection to assess contraventions noted on routine inspection #WBET-CF6RP7 dated July 7, 2022.

Observed Violations

STAFFING: 12050 - CCLR s.19(1)(b) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): There was no evidence that reference had been checked in one staff file. The manager said she had called the references but had not kept notes. Corrective Action(s): In future the manager will keep notes when she checks reference. Date to be Corrected:

At the inspection dated July 29, 2022 there were three staff and six children present. One contravention was noted at this inspection and this contravention was addressed on site. During this inspection the Licensing Officer discussed the following with the manager: When making a phone call to verify a staff reference, take notes and keep the notes in the staff file. This inspection was reviewed with the manager and written off site. A copy of this inspection was provided to the manager by email.
