A new handsink has been installed across from the walk-in-cooler, which is more conveniently located near the front pizza prep & service area compared to the previous floor plan layout. this handsink was supplied with hot and cold running water and liquid soap and paper towels via wall-mounted dispensers. Code 401 was corrected.
Second handsink near the 2-compartment sink was properly supplied. New liquid soap and paper towel dispensers had been installed and wall-mounted. Caulking was redone at this handsink.
Operator was observed frequently and properly washing her hands.
Handsink in the staff washroom was supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water and single-use paper towels. Operator removed the hanging towel observed in the stff washroom and is to remove it from the food premises today.
Walls had been repainted near the ware-washing area and back area. Operator informed that she intends to repaint the walls behind the pizza oven as well.
Floors had been cleaned. Cleaning improvements were observed at the time of inspection.
Thermometers had been added into the pizza prep cooler, one door freezer, and domestic cooler. Operator informed they are using the domestic cooler for staff use only with respect to personal staff lunches.
Copy of food safety and sanitation plan was provided during the inspection. District Environmental Health Officer will review these plans and contact the operator if any revisions or additional information is required.
Extra pest-proof dry storage containers with tight fitting lids were available onsite.
2-compartment sink was supplied with hot and cold running water. Three sink plugs were available.
Walk-in-cooler, pizza prep. cooler, and domestic cooler were at or below 4C. Food inside the upper components of the pizza prep. cooler was at or below 4C.
Freezer temperatures were satisfactory.
Hot-holding unit was preheated to 60C or hotter during the inspection. Hot-holding of pizza slices ws not occurring at the time of inspection.
Operator with valid FOODSAFE Level 1 training was present onsite. FOODSAFE certificates for two staff members were available onsite.
100ppm chlorine sanitizer was available inside the sanitizer pail with a wiping cloth and labelled spray bottle.
No signs of recent pest activity were present at the time of inspection.
