Observation:
Hand soap in squeeze bottles, at the hand sinks, are not labeled with "soap". The squeeze bottles are used to stored food, but is now storing soap/chemical. Staff/students may confuse the soap as a food item.
Corrective Action(s):
Label each bottle with "soap" to prevent confusion.

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Coolers 4C or colder; freezers -20C or colder; hot holding units 60C of hotter; thermometers present; and temperatures recorded daily.
- Hand sinks stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water.
- Bleach sanitizer in spray bottles had [Cl2] of 200ppm.
- High temperature dishwasher had a rinse cycle temperature of 74C at the plate's surface, as per max/min thermometer.
- All foods stored in food grade containers; covered; labeled; date coded; foods stored in groups with raw proteins on the lowest shelves or below RTE foods; and foods stored 6" off the floor on shelves, racks or platforms.
- No expired foods in use or for sale. FIFO rules being followed.
- General sanitation level is good. All walls, floors and ceilings are clean and organized. The exhaust canopies are scheduled to be professionally cleaned in January 30/20. Ensure to contact the cleaning company and schedule the cleaning in the new year.
- No signs of pests.
- FoodSafe certified staff present.
- All surfaces (walls, floors, counter tops, equipment) are in good working order, durable, smooth, sealed and cleanable.
- Minimal catering to other SD43 school events (meetings, conferences, ProD days, staff lunches, etc.) is being offered. Manager and staff are aware of the premises' storage capacity, and will not accept catering requests if there is inadequate storage room.
