Comments

At the inspection dated Oct 4, 2019 there were 3 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified.
Licensee to replace torn diaper pad and submit written documentation to Licensing once this has been completed.
During inspection Licensing discussed with the Licensee the fact that currently the back yard is not being used for the child care facility as it is not safe for children at this time.
- Licensing noted that this situation has been ongoing for a number of years.
- The Licensee stated that they go for walks to the school ground and local parks instead of using their back yard.
- Licensing discussed putting an approved "Outdoor Play Area" plan in place. Licensing will send further information to the Licensee regarding this.

During inspection Licensing observed:
- children listening to a circle time, creating free art and engaged in free play which included some dramatic play, using blocks etc.
- the staff conducting a story time with children, engaging with children while they were engaged in activities as well as assisting with problem solving when necessary.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCALA, CCLR, and DLSP).
