Observation: Rodent droppings were observed on the floor next to the laundry machine.
Corrective Action: Clean and sanitize the floor to remove rodent droppings. Monitor for pest activity and continue with pest control measures.

Observation: Hole was evident in wall corner next to the laundry machine.
Corrective action: Seal the hole to prevent any possible entry points or harbourage areas for pests.

307 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not of suitable design/material [s. 16; s. 19]
Observation: Empty wooden bin (with materials that are not smooth and easy to clean) was observed near the back door. Wooden panels to stack pizza trays were not made of smooth, easy to clean and impervious to moisture materials.
Corrective action: Operator agreed to remove the wooden storage bin and wooden panels. Operator informed he would obtain stainless steel circular lids/trays to place between the pizza trays in the prep cooler. Ensure all equipment is made of easy to clean, smooth, impervious to moisture, and easy to clean materials. Remove the wooden pizza tray storage bin and wooden panels from the food premises today.

Observation: 1. Pizza prep. cooler had water accumulation inside it possibly from a leak.
2. Liquid soap dispenser still needs to be wall-mounted near the 3-compartment sink.
Corrective action:
1. Ensure the necessary repairs are made to prevent a leak and water from accumulating in the pizza cooler.
2. Install a wall-mounted liquid soap dispenser at the 3-compartment sink. In the interim, continue keeping liquid soap on the shelving unit near the sink.

Comments

Handsink was supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
Walk-in cooler = 3.9C (required: 4C or less).
Pizza prep. cooler: 3.9C (required: 4C or less).
Sweets cooler: 2.8C (required: 4C or less).
Beverage cooler: 5C (required: contained pop only).
Second sweets cooler was used for shelf stable sweets only.
Upright freezers: -18C (required: at -18C or less).
Hot-held pizza slices and samosas: 60C or hotter.
Hot-holding unit (pizza warmer) had a display thermometer, which was reading above 140F.
Probe thermometer was available.
Refrigeration units were equipped with thermometers.
Samosas are deep fried from operator's second restaurant and hot-held above 60C at this facility.
Microwave was added to reheat rice and curries obtained from operator's second restaurant (approved source).
Rice was at 4C or less internal temperature in the walk-in cooler.
Both curries were above 60C internal temperature and undergoing the cooling process in shallow containers in the walk-in cooler. Informed both curries were cooked fresh at his second restaurant today.

Note: An additional shelving unit may be required in the walk-in cooler depending on the volume of food. Food is required to be stored at least 6" off the floor in storage units.

3-compartment sink was supplied with hot and cold running water. Three sink plugs were available. 100ppm chlorine sanitizer was available in a labelled spray bottle.
Operator held valid FOODSAFE Level 1 course training (expiration date: January 21, 2028) on shift.
Pest control program has been initiated according to the operator. Pest control agreement was available onsite whereas Advance Pest Control will be providing services each month. Mechanical traps were setup.
Note: Deep fryer with a lid was added on the counter-top near the handsink. Operator informed they will ensure to check with the City of Surrey for appropriate approval prior to using it.
