Introduction

Community Care Facilities Licensing (CCFL) inspected all care categories during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/:
• the Community Care & Assisted Living Act
• the Child Care Licensing Regulation
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practices

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-CD7QKP have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Repeat violation from 29/Sep/2020 complaint investigation: An ECEA's certificate was not displayed.

STAFFING: 12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Repeat violation from FIR #CGEE-CD7QKP (05/Apr/2022): An employee's recent certificate renewal was unverified.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: The GCC (SA) children's attendance only shows 2 times:
- AM drop-off
- PM pick-up
Corrective Action(s): On regular or early dismissal days, GCC (SA) children who attend in the AM & PM must be signed:
- in upon parental drop-off
- out upon transfer of care to school (welcoming bell @ 08:50)
- in upon transfer of care to the CCF (dismissal bell @ 15:00)
- out upon parental pick-up

On days of school closure (PDD, winter/spring/summer break), documenting a single arrival time & departure time is correct.
