401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)] Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand washing stations in kitchen (X2) not supplied with hot water during inspection. Operator set up a adequate temporary hand washing station at both designated hand washing stations during inspection. Hot water is available on site in the large pot dishwashing area and at the patron hand washing stations. Corrective Action(s): Maintain all designated hand washing stations adequately supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel or other approved single-use hand drying method AT ALL TIMES to ensure volunteers are washing their hands adequately before handling food. Operator stated that hot water has had issues in the past. Hot water is available on site in the other parts of the kitchen (e.g. dishwashing). Corrective Action(s): Repair hot water to ensure it is dispensed at adequate supply, temperature and pressure at all designated hand washing stations and other designated preparation/dishwashing sinks (as per approved plans). Follow-up Inspection Conducted - Refer to inspection report #SDHI-D36RYN for outstanding violations Observations: - General sanitation satisfactory - All food observed stored covered and at least 6 inches off the floor - No signs of pest activity during inspection - Hand washing stations have been supplied with paper towel and liquid soap as required *Notes: - Operator mentioned that the hand air dryers and wall-mounted liquid soap dispensers are under a contract to be repaired and supplied by the manufacturer. - Ensure the air dryers are repaired and contact the health inspector once the air dryers have been repaired. - Until the manufacturer has visited to repair the air dryers and supply liquid soap in the dispensers ALL HAND WASHING STATIONS MUST be supplied with paper towel and a disposable liquid soap dispenser AT ALL TIMES Inspection report will be emailed to the operator. - Follow-up inspection to be conducted tomorrow, Mar 13, 2024 Please contact the health inspector for any questions or concerns.
